The monitor and controls use an asynchronous serial interface in either a standard ASCII format
or in the StarGuide Digital Networks Packet Mode. The monitor and control interface is located
on the rear panel on a DB-9 connector labeled M&C. The default settings for the port are 9600
baud, no parity, 8 data bits, and 1 stop bit. These settings can be changed from either the front
panel or the monitor and control interface itself.
In ASCII mode the syntax for commands is shown below.
Note! Every command is terminated with a carriage return
(labeled <CR>).
A query is formed by the command followed by either a question mark or no parameter:
XX ?<CR> or XX<CR>
A command with one parameter is formed by the command followed by a space and then the
parameter:
XX Y<CR>
Commands with additional parameters are formed by appending the additional parameters
separated by commas:
XX Y,Z,...<CR>
Table 4 lists single commands that can be issued through the M&C interface. The table provides
a brief description and action brief of the listed commands.

AG AGC Value Queries the current AGC reading from the
demodulator.
AM Audio Mode Changes audio output on a port-by-port
basis.
AQ Acquisition Mode Queries the state of the acquisition process.
CLR Clear Channel Queries or sets the state of the receiver’s
clear channel mode.
CM Current Multiplexer Used when acquiring an unknown mux to
determine the current mux ID.
DR Data Rate Sets or queries the data rate of the carrier
being acquired.
