1.28 Night Service Station
DATABASE PROGRAMMING - 1. EXTENSION - RING ASSIGN-
MENT - NIGHT MODE
Protegé® 616 assigns specific extensions to ring after
hours, and to answer the incoming call at the night-
time. This only works when the system is in night
mode.
1.29 Pause
DATABASE PROGRAMMING - 3. CALL HANDLING - PAUSE TIME
Protegé 616 allows for a pause to be inserted between
two digits of a stored speed dial number or during
manual dialing. This allows the 616 to be compatible
with some switching systems. The pause can be pro-
grammed in the Call Handling section of database
programming.
1.30 PBX Compatibility
DATABASE PROGRAMMING - 3. CALL HANDLING - PBX CODE
If the system is connected behind either a PBX or a
CENTREX line, an access code will need to be pro-
grammed. This one or two digit number is used to
seize a line on the PBX or CENTREX line.
N
OTES
• After a PBX access code is entered, the system
will pause for a programmable length of time
and then resume dialing. The programmable
length is 1 - 9 seconds.
1.31 Power Failure Transfer
DATABASE PROGRAMMING - NONE
When commercial power fails, the Protegé 616 auto-
matically will switch the first line on the 308 board to
a dedicated phone connection port. All incoming
calls from line 1 will be answered by a single-line
telephone connected to this auxiliary port when
power is not applied to the system.
1.32 Privacy
DATABASE PROGRAMMING - 3. CALL HANDLING - INTRUSION
With intrusion disabled in programming privacy on
every call is ensured. With intrusion enabled in pro-
gramming, intrusion is not allowed on a conversa-
tion by extensions with a lower COS than that of the
extension engaged in the conversation.
1.33 Private Line
DATABASE PROGRAMMING - 2. TRUNKLINE - PRIVATE TO
Extensions may be assigned an exclusive line to use,
and no other extension can access that line. Incoming
or held calls on this private line cannot be answered
by other extensions.
N
OTES
•Private line programming overrides line ring
and receive assignments.
•Canceling Private Line will make the line acces-
sible to all extensions in the same extension
group.
1.34 Recall
DATABASE PROGRAMMING - 3. CALL HANDLING - RECALL TIME
A transferred call that is not answered at an exten-
sion within a specific time period will recall to the
original transferring station. If there is no answer at
that extension within a system specified recall time,
the call will roll over to the attendant.
When the call is answered, a 'Recall' message
including the line number will be displayed to dis-
tinguish from new incoming calls.
If the attendant does not answer the call within a 5
minute period of time, the call is dropped. The
answer supervision time for transferred calls and
first recall will follow the same timer that is pro-
grammable.
N
OTES
• The displays of all extensions except the trans-
ferring extension and the attendant will show
busy.
1.35 Ringing Line Preference
DATABASE PROGRAMMING - NONE
Protegé® 616 follows a predefined priority sequence
for answering calls by lifting handset or pressing the
speaker key. The calls are answered as shown below:
1) Camped
line
2)
Recalled line call
3)
Transferring line call
4)
Incoming line call
5)
ICM callback
6)
Incoming ICM call
1.36 Soft Key
DATABASE PROGRAMMING - NONE
Each display keyset has three softkeys that are used
to display the currently allowed specific functions
available during call operation or feature program-
ming. With these keys, phone call functions and pro-
gramming are easier for the extension users.
