1 Scope

This document applies to the communications interface on the uX (Micro-X)
Interface Control Board , assembly 460291-XXX.

2.0 Functional Description

The communications interface provides:



RS-232.



Ethernet

(10/100-Base-T)



USB

Data acquisition and control capabilities are provided by:



6 channels of 12-bit analog-to-digital converters.



2 additional analog channels that monitor the house-keeping 24V power

supply and ambient board temperature



4 channels of 12-bit digital-to-analog converters.



1 digital output bit



3 digital inputs bits



1

relay/interlock

3.0 Getting Started – Hardware Setup

The digital hardware includes a 120MIPS micro control unit processor (MCU).
The uX can operate in manual (analog) control mode or remote (digital control
via the selected interface). The selection is done using DIP Switches located on
the control board.

3.1 DIP
