This menu manually checks the mechanical operation, prints a test pattern (16STEP), and cleans the
thermal head.
. [Paper|feed]
: Checks the transportation of the printing paper.
Con
fi rmation object: Stepping motor, PE-42 board, PE sensor/PE-43 board,
Jamming sensor/PE-44 board, and PP mode 1 and 2 sensor/
PSW-87 board
Con fi rmation method: 1. When installing the printing paper in 5-inch width, pins 4
and 5 of CN404 on the MEC-33 board change to high
from low.
2. When clicking the
[Paper|feed]
button, printing paper is
fed. During the printing paper is transported through the
sensor, pin 7 of CN406 on the MEC-33 board changes to
low from high and pin 2 of CN404 on the MEC-33 board
changes to high from low.
. [Ribbon|wind]
: Checks the takeup of ribbon.
Con fi rmation object: Ribbon (T) motor and SU-133 board
Con fi rmation method: When clicking the
[Ribbon|wind]
button without installing
the ribbon cassette, ribbon (T) motor rotates in forward
direction, stops, and rotates in the reverse direction.
. [Ribbon|rewind]
: Checks the supply of ribbon.
Con fi rmation object: Ribbon (S) motor, SU-115 board, and ribbon FG sensor/
SE-840 board
Con fi rmation method: When clicking the [Ribbon rewind] button without installing
the ribbon cassette, ribbon (S) motor rotates in forward
direction, stops, and rotates in the reverse direction. And
when it rotates in forward direction, pulse signal is output
from pin 2 of CN403 on the MEC-33 board.
