1-6-11. Platen Roller

When replacing the paper drive roller, platen roller, capstan roller or pinch roller, be careful not to touch it
with bare hands or dirty gloves. When the roller is contaminated, clean it with ethyl alcohol.
1. Remove the cabinet. (Refer to Section 1-4.)
2. Remove the ribbon drive assembly. (Refer to Section 1-6-2.)
3. Remove the stepping motor. (Refer to Section 1-6-4.)
4. Remove the cutter unit. (Refer to Section 1-6-8.)
5. Remove the paper eject guide assembly. (Refer to Section 1-6-9.)
6. Remove the two helical extension springs.
7. Remove the platen spacer (A).
8. Remove the platen roller in the direction of the arrow.

When lifting the platen roller, be careful not to drop
the bearing 1 and bearing 2.
9. Remove the platen spacer (B) and four bearings (1 to 4)
from the platen roller.
10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
