2-5-4. Processing Required When Information Items Cannot Be Backed Up
The operation below is required when the information items stored on the MA-140 board cannot be read
during replacement of an MA-140 board.
When a value is written down in step 4 of “Backup of various information items”
(Section 2-5-1);
1. Start the service mode. (Refer to Section 5-2.)
2. Click
the
[Setting]
button.
A Setting screen then appears.
3. Click the
[Open]
button of the Setting.
A Setting screen then appears.
4. Set the item values below to the values written down in step 4 of “Backup of various information
items”.

USB serial number (USB Serial)
.
Thermal head resistance value (Head Resistance)
.
Thermal head voltage value (Head Voltage)
.
Takeup tension ratio of ribbon drive assembly (Takeup Ratio)
5. Click the
[Apply]
button.
When there is no backup;
1. Set the thermal head resistance value. (Refer to Section 2-2-3.)
2. Adjust the density. (Refer to Section 2-2-5.)

Compare a print with the print at that time when a test pattern (16STEP) before replacement exists.
When no print can be performed before replacement, compare a test pattern with the test pattern
(16STEP) printed using a normal unit for adjustment.
3. Set the takeup tension ratio. (Refer to Section 2-3-1.)
4. Set the USB serial number. (Refer to Section 2-5-5.)
