Front Panel Controls, Connections & Indicators
The AVN-TB20AR and AVN-TB20AD and any other Sonifex talkback
intercoms can be used with a single network connecon using the lower
(AoIP) port as this also provides access to the embedded web server. The
talkback intercom units, AoIP sources and desnaons, and grandmaster
clocks should sll ideally be connected to a dedicated network switch.
Microphone
These units have connecons for a microphone via a 3 pin XLR on the front
panel, or a headset via a 5 pin XLR on the front or rear panel. Only one
microphone or headset should be connected. If phantom power is required,
this can be enabled via the webserver. See
web page on page 42 for details.
Audio Inputs
Audio inputs connected to the unit can be monitored locally via the
headphones or speaker. They can also be routed to the network as an AoIP
stream so that other units can listen to the audio. There are 2 un-balanced
stereo inputs, 1 balanced stereo input that can also be configured as a
mono input/output, and a digital S/PDIF input.

roung of audio to an AoIP stream can be muted as required via the
webserver. See
web page on page 30 for details.
Audio Outputs
Audio outputs can be sourced from AoIP streams or any of the local audio
inputs including the microphone. There is 1 balanced and 1 un-balanced
stereo output. There is also a balanced mono output available.

muted at any me via the webserver. See
web page
on page 43 for details.
GPIO
The GPIO connector provides 10 ports, individually configurable as either
inputs or outputs, via a 15 way ‘D’ type connector.
are

low. See
web page on page 47 for details.
Power Supply
The units can be powered from the mains via the supplied IEC lead, or by
using the oponal external 12V DC power supply, part number AVN-DC150.
Please contact Sonifex Ltd sales for more details. Both power supplies can
be connected and powered at the same me to provide redundancy if
required.
