The C-values at both frequencies should be 83 ±5 pF. The fractions of ice and water as well as the
density should be zero. If the C-values are within these limit, no calibration needs to be performed.
If the C-values are outside the limits specified above, perform a zero-adjustment by clicking
Sensor
zero adjust . After the adjustment, test the sensors again.
10.4.4 Span test and adjustment
Follow the instructions below to perform a span-test for each SPA-2-ribbon sensor:
1. Mount the reference plate to the SPA-ribbon sensor as shown in Figure 9 : loosen the knurled
bolts and attach the plates to the ribbon. Make sure the thickened edges of the SPA-ribbon
are aligned along the grooves of the reference plate. Fasten the bolts by hand.
