change the state of the relay located 
inside  the 

SONIC  START

    Prime 

Sensing Probe. 

If  the  Red  indicating  light  changes 
state  and  turns  on,  the 

SONIC 

START

®

    Prime  Sensing  Probe  is 

operating correctly. Go to 

Step 3

If the Red light did not light up after 
holding  the  magnet  to  the 

SONIC 

START

®

 Prime   Sensing  Probe, 

the 

SONIC START

®

  Prime Sensing 

Probe needs to be replaced. 

3.  

Check the wiring to the control panel 

and  back.  If,  after  checking  all  of 

these  wiring  items  and  it  does  not 

correct  the 

Red

  light,  then  check 

the 

Din Connector Cable (Item 9). 

Make sure the 

Din Connector Cable 

(Item 9)

 is securely screwed in and 

attached  to  the 

SONIC  START

®

  

Prime Sensing Probe. If the 

Red

 light 

turns on, this was the problem and 

the pump will operate normally now. 

If not, go to 

Step 4.

4.  If the 

Red 

light  still  does  not  come 

on,  switch  the 

SONIC  START

®

  

Operating  

Module  out  with 

another

 SONIC START

®

  Operating 

Module. If this resolves the problem, 

you have a defective 

SONIC START

®

  

Operating  Module  and  after  you 

replace it, the   pump  will  operate 

normally. If not, go to Step 5.

5.  If this still does not solve the problem, 

then switch out the

 SONIC START

®

  

Prim  Sensing  Probe  itself.  The

If the pump runs, but it is not primed and the 

Green

  indicating  light  is 

On

  and  the 

Red

 

indicating  light  is 

Off

,  follow  the  steps  below 

until the pump will prime.  

 

 

1.  If the 

Green

  indicating  light  on  the 

SONIC  START

®

    Prime  Sensing 

Probe is lit and the 

Red

  light  is  not 

lit, clean the 

SONIC START

®

  Prime 

Sensing Probe. You can either access 

the probe in two ways: 

      • by removing the Dome Assembly 

and using a soft bristle tooth  brush to 

gently wipe the probe clean, or 

 

 

 

 

    • by unthreading the 

SONIC START

®

  

Prime Sensing Probe from the motor  

adapter and wipe it clean with a soft 

paper towel.

       After  cleaning  the 

SONIC  START

®

  

Prime Sensing Probe, reinstall it or 

the dome. If the 

Red

 light turns on, 

this was the problem and the pump 

will operate normally now.

2.    If  the  Green  indicating  light  on  the 

SONIC  START

®

  Prime  Sensing 

Probe is lit and the Red light is still 

not lit after cleaning the probe, test 

the 

SONIC START

®

  Prime Sensing 

Probe by  changing the state of the 

relay  located  inside  of  the 

SONIC 

START

®

  Prime Sensing Probe. Hold 

the  magnet  up  against  the  target 

symbol on the 

SONIC START

®

  Prime 

Sensing Probe for a few seconds to
