NOTE: Deploying the Hook and Boom is the FIRST task you must accomplish after deploying your SPYDERCRANE

s Outriggers.

Allow LMI to start

up, configure LMI for crane operations, and ensure LMI is running the Operations Screen.

Ensure Hook Block is NOT ties off, or otherwise secured (other than it being in the stored condition.

WINCH DOWN until the hook block is hanging freely and A2B Switch is pulled closed.

BOOM UP until Boom Stored Switch is disengaged.

Confirm CMU reads CODE 01 (CODE 00, if controlling remotely).

Confirm LMI Operations Screen is registering normal operations.

SLEW the boom until it is centered over the Safety Beacon.

BOOM IN until boom is fully retracted.

BOOM DOWN until boom is fully lowered (WINCH UP to prevent hook block from hitting the ground).

WINCH UP until hook block is raised as high as possible WITHOUT engaging the A2B Safety.

SLEW COUNTERCLOCKWISE to trigger Boom Stored Safety.

Command HOOK STORE until hook block is fully locked against boom tip.

NOTE: If you ARE NOT using a 4

Part Hook Block AND your SPYDERCRANE is equipped with Hook Storage Bracket, you MUST attach the hook to the

bracket BEFORE commanding a Hook Store; if your SPYDERCRANE is NOT equipped, raise the hook block as high as possible (triggering the A2B System)

and tie off the hook against the Boom Tip.
