Changing the ‘ping’ parameters
Purpose
This procedure explains how to control how often the
ME70 transmits acoustic energy into the water. This
is normally referred to as ‘pinging’.
Description
The “ping rate” is the parameter that controls how often the echo sounder shall transmit
acoustic energy (a “ping”) into the water.
When transmission is enabled, you can choose from these ping modes:
1
Single step
This option allows the ME70 to transmit single pings.
To transmit a single ping, click the
Ping
button.
2
Interval
This option allows the ME70 to transmit once every chosen time interval.
The time interval (in milliseconds) is chosen with the
Ping Interval
function.
3
Maximum
This option allows the ME70 to transmit at maximum speed.
The maximum rate is defined by the current depth range, the selected beam mode,
and the range selected for the data storage.
