Getting started

Note

You must never switch off the ME70 only by means of the on/off switch on the computer.
This may damage the software or the interface parameters for external devices. You
must ALWAYS use this procedure.

Powering off the computer will not automatically power down the Transceiver Unit.

If the ME70 will remain unused for a longer period of time, disengage all the circuit
breakers in the Transceiver Unit, and check that the ventilation fans are stopped. The
will prevent dust from entering the cabinet.

Procedure

Open the

Setup

menu in the ME70 application, and click the

TRU On/Off

button.

Observe that the

TRU StartUp

dialog box opens.

Click the

Shutdown

button in the

TRU StartUp

dialog box.

Allow the transceiver to shut down, and observe the status reported by the

TRU

StartUp

dialog box.

Click the

Exit

button in the program.

It is located on the

Title Bar

in the top right corner of the display presentation.

Observe that the program closes down.

If the computer does not switch itself off automatically, use the functionality
provided by the operating system to switch it off manually.

Switch off the colour display.

If required, refer to the instructions provided by the display manufacturer.

Restarting the ME70

Purpose

This procedure explains how to restart the Simrad ME70.

Prerequisites

The ME70 system is powered up and running.

Procedure

Open the

Setup

menu in the ME70 application, and click the

TRU On/Off

button.

Observe that the

TRU On/Off

dialog box opens.

Click the

Restart

button in the

TRU On/Off

dialog box.

Allow the transceiver to restart, and observe the status reported by the

TRU On/Off

dialog box.
