Simrad ME70
Power Supply Unit
Each Simrad ME70 Power Supply Unit provides operational and transmission power
to one of the three transceiver racks in the Transceiver Unit. External analogue power
supplies have been chosen to ensure minimum electric noise. In order to reduce the
voltage drop in the power cables, these must be kept as short as possible.
Caution
The Power Supply Unit contains high voltages. Do not open the cabinet
door while power is applied.
Transducer
The Simrad ME70 Transducer is plane, and consists
of a ceramic-polymer composite matrix. The matching
transformer for each transducer element is located in
the transducer, this allows a low impedance connection
to the Transceiver Unit. The array is connected to
the rear side of the three transceiver racks in the
Transceiver Unit using 25 cables.
