Commissioning the system
6.2.1
Configuration of blanking on the C4000 with external restart interlock
In the “Connection of the reset button” dialog box, select “
At the extension connection
”
In the “Devices to be connected, At the extension connection” dialog box, select
“Teach-
in key-operated switch”
In the “Restart interlock” dialog box, select “
external
”
In the related operating modes in which the blanking is activated or deactivated, the
corresponding number of blanked areas must be selected in “Number of blanked areas”.
On operation without restart interlock in the C4000 safety light curtain (i.e. on the
utilisation of an external restart interlock) a reset button for the teach-in must be
connected (cf. chapter 6.5 in the operating instructions for the C4000 Advanced).
6.2.2
Configuration of blanking on the C4000 with internal restart interlock
In the “Connection of the reset button” dialog box, select
“at the system plug”
In the “Devices to be connected, At the extension connection” dialog box, select
“Teach-
in key-operated switch”

In the “Restart interlock” dialog box, select
“internal”
In the related operating modes in which the blanking is activated or deactivated, the
corresponding number of blanked areas must be selected in “Number of blanked areas”.
6.2.3
Procedure for activating and deactivating blanked areas
It is necessary to teach-in a blanked area after configuration. If the blanked area is no
longer required, it must be deactivated immediately.
Steps for teaching-in and activating a blanked area:
Place object in the protective field
Activate key-operated switch
Press reset button and release
Deactivate key-operated switch
Steps for deactivating a blanked area:
Object remains in the protective field
Activate key-operated switch
Press and hold the “Deactivate blanking” pushbutton
Press and release the “Reset” pushbutton
Deactivate key-operated switch
Release the “Deactivate blanking” pushbutton
Remove object from the protective field
If the blanked object is removed from the protective field with blanking set, this situation is
indicated as an interruption in the protective field by the illumination of the red LED and
the 7-segment display. The blanking must then be deactivated.
If an object is inserted without blanking set, then this situation is indicated as a protective
field interruption by the illumination of the red LED and the 7-segment display.
