Troubleshooting
Remedy
Switch on voltage supply
•
Check whether light path is
interrupted.
•
Realign the units, ensure that they are
rotated through 180° with respect to
each other.
•
Align the units using the optical
alignment aid (crosshairs) and the
LEDs. The LEDs on both units must
extinguish.
•
Mount and operate the units within
the specified range.
•
Align the units using the optical
alignment aid (crosshairs) and the
LEDs.The LEDs on both units must
extinguish.
•
Check whether the light path is
covered (obstacles).
•
Clean lenses.
•
Mount and operated the units within
the specified range.
•
Set carrier frequencies as described
in
Chapter 5.1.2, Page 22
.
•
Check the device types, ensure that
they are rotated through 180°!
•
Check whether the light path is
blocked (obstacles).
•
Check alignment, as described above.
•
Apply a data flow on the transmitting
unit. The “RxD“ LED must flicker.
Check connection.
•
Perform check as in
Chapter 5.1.3,
Page 24
(ISD 230) or
Chapter 5.2.3,
Page 33
(ISD 260/280).
•
Check connection as in
Chapter
5.1.6,
Page 27
(ISD 230) or
Chapter
5.2.6,
Page 37
(ISD 260/280).
•
Check connections.
•
Remove ST 17, see
Chapter 5.1.2,
Page 23.
Malfunction
“PWO“ LED (green) not lit.
“Light path interrupted“ LED (front,
yellow/orange) lights up permanently.
“Light path interrupted“ LED (front,
yellow/orange) blinks.
No data transfer or data transfer error.
(“TxD“ LED does not flicker on the
receiving unit)
Possible cause
24 V DC supply voltage missing
•
The light path between the two units
is interrupted
•
Units mounted incorrectly
•
Units not aligned correctly
•
Distance between units too large
•
Units not aligned correctly
•
Light path partially covered
•
Lenses contaminated
•
Distance between the units too large
•
ISD 230: carrier frequencies of both
units identical
•
Units mounted incorrectly
•
Light path between the two units is
interrupted
•
Units not aligned
•
No data on the electrical interface of
the transmitting unit (“RxD“ LED off)
•
Data interface configured incorrectly.
•
Data interface connected incorrectly
•
Cables not connected
•
