Ø
In order to prevent interferences, do not lay the cable parallel to power supply and
motor cables (for example in cable dust) for a longer stretch.
Supply voltage
The ISD 260 and ISD 280 require a supply voltage of 24 V DC ±20 % in accordance with
IEC 742 (functional extra-low voltage) at pins 1 and 3 of the round connector. The
continuous current consumption per unit is max. 0.4 A (without heater).
The SICK AMS 50-013/-012 connection module with integrated power pack or any other
power supply unit that supplies a voltage of 24 V DC in accordance with IEC 742 can be
used as a power supply.
The output circuit must have a safety separation from the input circuit in accordance
with IEC 742 through double insulation and safety isolating transformer.
Heating
In the case of units with integrated heater, note that the current consumption depends on
the supply voltage. The current consumption is max. 2.5 A, typical value at a rated voltage
of 24 V DC: approx 1.3 A. If the supply voltage is lower, the current consumption and
heating output are reduced accordingly. In this case, ambient temperatures of max. –38 °C
may not be fully compensated by the heater. Wire-cross section is minimum 0,75 mm
2
at a
maximum length of 20 m.
The units must be switched on permanently during operation. If the system is switched on
when cold (below 0 °C), data transfer can only be ensured after the warm-up time (max.
60 min) has expired.
