7.2 Inspection and maintenance intervals
Adhere to the following inspection and maintenance intervals:
Time interval What to do?
• Daily • Check the housing temperature at the bearing housing
of the HSS:
– Mineral oil: max. 90 °C
– Synthetic oil: max. 100 °C
• Check for gear unit noise
• Check the gear unit for signs of leakage
• After 500 operating hours • Check the oil level
• After 500 to 800 operating hours • First oil change after initial startup
• Every 6 months • Check all the screw fittings and piping for leakage
• Every 3000 operating hours, at least
every 6 months • Check the oil consistency: If the gear unit is operated
outdoors or in humid conditions, check the water con-
tent of the oil. The water content must not exceed
0.03% (300 ppm).
• Fill regreasable sealing systems (option) with grease.
• Check the breather, replace if necessary
• At least every 12 months, depending on
the operating conditions • Change mineral oil
• Check whether retaining screws are tightly secured
• Check the condition of the motor pump, replace filter
element if necessary
• Check the condition of the oil-water cooler, replace filter
element if necessary (see addendum to the operating
instructions)
• Check the condition of the oil-air cooler, replace the fil-
ter element if necessary (see addendum to the operat-
ing instructions)
• Clean the oil filter, replace filter element if necessary
• Check the alignment of the input and output shaft
• At least every 3 years depending on the
operating conditions (see figure on
next page) • Change synthetic oil
• Varying (depending on external factors) • Check the installed pipes and hose pipes
• Clean the gear unit housing surface and fan
• Touch up or renew the surface/anti-corrosion coating
• Check the oil heater (at same time as the oil change):
– All connection cables and terminals must be
tightened securely and free from corrosion.
– Clean encrusted heating elements and replace if ne-
cessary
