User Replaceable Components
Under normal operation, it is not necessary to perform any routine maintenance to
your scale other than periodic calibration. However, some users may wish to pur-
chase an extra battery pack for extended operation. With time and wear, it may
become necessary to replace the controller cable. This section describes battery
and cable replacement.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
To replace the optional battery, refer to Figure 3 and perform the following steps after
removing power from the unit.
1. Turn the scale over so the scale is resting on its pan.
2. Remove the two Phillips head screws on the battery cover. The battery cover is
the left cover. It is opposite the cable replacement cover.
3. Remove the existing battery connector and remove the battery from the cavity.
4. Place the new battery in cavity with the battery wires facing rear of scale.
5. Plug battery connector into receptacle on printed circuit board through opening
in rear of battery cavity.
6. Place battery cover in place, making certain not to catch the wires.
7. Replace the screws.
8. Flip the scale upright and test.
