F.8L Falco Construction Manual

Revision 4, March 1, 2002

Note: 

 The hole must first be drilled with a 3/16”Ø drill, then reamed with a Brown &

Sharpe No. 1 tapered reamer.  The small end of the tapered shank shall not extend more
than 1/16” above the surface of the universal joint.

Caution

It is very easy to over-ream with the tapered reamer.  This is particularly
true when an electric drill is used.  Use a very slow speed and proceed
very cautiously.  For best results, use a variable-speed drill or a
rechargable electric drill, which turns very slowly.

One method of reaming that works well is to use a drill press, but
remove the belts and turn the drill by hand.
