Field Measurements
7.5
Step 1: Marking/Staking off the survey area
The area to be surveyed has to be staked off as precise as possible. A rope to help maintaining the
tracks is highly advisable. The dimensions of the field have to be determined as well as the track
distance. The latter has to be adjusted according to the objects that are to be detected. For small
objects, a small track distance is required. Note the field parameters for later use with the PDA.
Step 2: Creating a field in the PDA
Fields are always created in a project.
·
Make sure you have selected a project and you are working in field mode. If this is not the case,
then switch to field mode as described in chapter
.
·
Select "Menu" (1) - "New" (2) - "Field Measurement" (3) and enter the field parameters and the
field name on the next page.
·
Confirm the entered values with "Create" (4). The recently added field will now be displayed in
project view.
The field parameters can be modified later on, but only as long as no track of this field
was measured yet.
A validity check is automatically run by the system for the entered parameters e.g. the
field width needs to be an integer multiple of the track distance. The system corrects the
values if required and informs the user about these corrections.
·
Repeat Step 2 to create additional fields.
Step 3: Preparing the SBL10
·
Position and fix the sensor of the SBL10 and proceed to an magnetically unpolluted area.
·
Select either mode 1, 2 or 3.
