OPERATING MANUAL
59
If the signal from the NLJD gets re-radiated by any electronics that are close to the line but not
connected to it, it is only the NLJD operator who will be getting the response, but not the ST300 operator.
If, on the other hand, the re-radiating device is connected to the tested line, its presence will be noticed
by both team members, i.e., the NLJD operator’s device will be showing signs that there is semiconductor
material within its scope, and the operator of ST300 will hear in his headphones a characteristic noise
caused by the nonlinear junction detector.
Wherever both operators register such responses simultaneously, is where a hard-wired eavesdropping
device is planted.
4. POWER SUPPLY AND BATTERY CHARGING
ST300 is powered from a built-in lithium polymer accumulator battery.
The device should not be operated while it is being charged from the mains.
A full charge provides 7 hours of uninterrupted operation. Battery status is shown on display (4,
Fig.12).
A Charger (12, Fig.4.) is supplied with ST300. To start charging, insert the charger plug into the “DC
5V” socket (7, Fig.2) in the side of the ST300 unit, and connect the Charger to the AC mains (220V/50Hz).
The charging process is indicated by the red light of the “POWER” led on the front panel of the device.
The full charging time of a discharged accumulator battery is 7 hours.
The device should not be charged while in operation.
