Daily Maintenance
Visually Inspect the Machine
Walk around the machine each day and inspect the fol-
lowing:
• Check for missing or damaged safety decals
• Check pipeline clamps for damage
• Make sure all safety guards are in place
• Check for any cracks or structure defects
• Check for worn or damaged hydraulic lines
• Check tightness of bolts
• Check for leaks or damage on boom cylinders
• U-bolts in place and not damaged
• Make sure nylon choker and safety cable are in
place and are not damaged.
• Check for broken or damaged pipe arm clamps.
Check Hydraulic Fluid Levels
Check the level and condition of the hydraulic oil (Fig-
ure 5). Fill it, if necessary, with the same brand and type
of oil. Add only filtered oil, through the filler neck.
Replace milky looking oil, which is a sign of water con-
tamination. Try to determine the source of the water. If
the oil has turned milky quickly, such as from one day to
the next, then simply replacing the oil will not solve your
problem. If you need ideas about where to look for the
source of water contamination, call Schwing America’s
Service Department at (651) 429-0999 or (800) 328-
9635.

Check End Hose
Rubber hoses must be replaced af-
ter 6 years, regardless of condition.
Check the date of manufacture and
replace after 6 years (including stor-
age time)
Detach the end hose and inspect before each use. New
hoses should be checked after the first 100 cu.yds.
pumped.
Visual Inspection - Outside
• Check the outlet end for lacerations or wear.
• Check end hose for buldges, kinks or other
demormatons which may be a sign of damage to
the reinforment layer.
• Check the out surface for cuts, missing material
or chafing marks.
Visual Inspection - Inside
• Using a light, check the inside reinforment
• Check for bulges or cuts
• Check the inlet side, the highest wear occurs on
the first 12” of the end hose.
Visual Inspection Hose Fitting
• Check the connection between the hose and the
clamp, ensure a tight fit.
• Check the pipe clamp for wear
• Check sealing faces for damage and remove any
concrete debris.
