Installation instructions
Danger of fire and explosion!
Unprofessional handling of gas pipes,
gas connections and the appliance can
produce gas leaks. It is highly dangerous
if gas is ignited!
Working on gas pipes and the
appliances is only allowed by approved
installers.
Expansion of the heater!
When installing the heater, take into
account the thermal expansion of the
heater during operation.
Mount the flexible connections so that
those can compensate the longitudinal
expansion of the tube.Only use flexible
connections for the radiant tube
regarding:
• gas
• electricity and
• air [if necessary]
FIg 28: Longitudinal thermal expansion
Gas-pipe-system and mounting of
heaters
Connection of gas pipes to the appliance, supply
and the mounting of the appliance are only
allowed by professional personnel who is
registered, holding a current certificate of
competence and in accordance with the relevant
provisions of the gas safety [installation and use]
regulations.
Additional installation notices of national or local
institutions must be observed. The pipe must be
dimensioned in a way that the minimum
connection pressure in front of the gas
combination valve of the individual devices is
available at the nominal thermal load of the entire
system, according to table 6.
Please consider the pressure drop of the upstream
mounted gas connection and gas filter. For the
detailed pressure drop value of the Schwank gas-
pipe-systems see table 7.

The max. connection pressure is 65 hPa!
In case of contaminated gas pipes and
generally at gas pipes of welded black
steel have to be mounted gas filter-
groups directly in front of the heater.
