The following information is given in the info menu:

After starting the device, you can access the info menu by pressing the button
“info”

. The device must be in the home position (see 7).
The keypad is equipped with various keys, some of them will light up to indicate that specific information is available.

Note!
If you have already scanned a material, only specific information on this material will be available. You can not access the info
menu during the various steps of the thermoforming process (heating, pressure moulding, cooling); the info menu is hidden. In-
formation and instructions on the thermoforming process have priority and are displayed, once infrared heater, pressure chamber
or locking shaft are moved from the home position.

5. Network connection
Connect the BIOSTAR
®
device to the power supply (please also refer to installation of on-site power supply as described in the safety instructions)
by plugging the power cable provided with the machine into the power socket

on the back of the device. For the device version in 230 V, two
additional device fuses are built in the main socket protecting the electrical parts from overvoltage. In order to exchange the fuses, press the small
clip underneath the power socket and remove the fuse box

. For the device versions in 110 V/115 V these fuses can be found in two separate
holders

that can be unscrewed. For the device version in 230 V the fuse TAA (REF 3100.940), for the device version in 115 V the fuse T10A
(REF 3101.341) and for the device version in 100 V the fuse T10A (REF 3100.941) are used.
6. Compressed air supply
A 20 bar air hose

with filter element and hose nozzle (DN 7.2 / 6 mm inner tube diameter) is permanently connected to the device and shall not be
replaced. Connect the BIOSTAR
®
device and the air hose provided with the machine to your compressed air system, using optionally the quick coupling
(DN 7.2 / 6 mm inner tube diameter) or a screw connection. The operating pressure is set at the factory to 6.0 bar/87 psi. This pressure guarantees
best thermoforming results and is being continuously indicated on the display; it shall not be modified. In case a reduction should be required, you can
adjust the pressure using the pressure regulator

on the back of the device. The pressure regulator is unlocked and turned by pulling (
).
After adjustment, the pressure regulator shall be locked again by pressing it in. In case pressure is increased exceeding 6.5 bar/94 psi (which does
not correspond to our recommendation), the safety valve starts to operate, which is indicated by a loud venting noise.
7. Home position
In the home position, the infrared heater

is swivelled backwards, the pressure chamber

is being opened to the left, and the locking shaft handle

is being swivelled backwards to the stop / 12 o`clock position (see fig. 1).
8. Switching on the device
The device is switched on using the on/off switch

. A test and setting mode is run for approx. 10 sec, before the standard dialogue appears that
is always the start dialogue for any thermoforming process. Programming is done using the keyboard

or the scanner

and is indicated on the

9. Fixing the blanks
You can process round blanks with a diameter of 125 mm in thicknesses from 0.1 mm to 5.0 mm in the BIOSTAR
®
machine. Open the pressure
chamber

by swivelling it to the left and remove the locking ring

by turning its handle to the 5 o’clock position. Place the blank on the sealing
ring of the balancing ring

that is visible in the pressure chamber and lock the pressure chamber by refitting the locking ring and turning its handle
to the 6 o’clock position.
