1. Safety Instructions
Carefully read the operation and safety instructions before commissioning and connecting the device, ensuring that all requirements are met.
General information
• Inspect the machine for damage before commissioning. If any damage is found, it shall not be operated.
• Always supervise the machine when it is switched on.
• Only use blanks of a diameter of 125 mm!
• Keep the device out of reach of children!
• Avoid any contact with liquids in order to protect the device against electric shock.
• Infrared heater and heater arm reach high temperatures during operation.
• Do not operate the device close to highly flammable materials.
• Ensure to operate the device only using its handles to avoid the risk of burns.
• The device shall only be transported when it has cooled down.
• Make sure that the heater is not exposed to any load during transport.
• Safe operation of the device can only be ensured using the original SCHEU-DENTAL spare parts.
• Any kind of service operation shall always be performed by service technicians instructed by SCHEU-DENTAL or at the SCHEU-DENTAL facilities.
Any conversion or modification of the device compromises product safety and leads to the expiration of warranty and guarantee claims.
• Never open the device without authorization. Caution: Risk of injury!
• Never carry out repairs yourself!
• The device is designed for electricity networks with alternating voltage of 100 V, 115 V or 230 V (please check the declared voltage on the serial
number on the back of the unit).
Installation of on-site power supply
The installation of power supply for the connection of our equipment shall be carried out in accordance with international regulations and the regula-
tions derived thereof.
Our equipment is built according to VDE (German Association for Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Information Technology),
protection class I and shall be connected to a socket with protective conductor.
Environment
The BIOSTAR
®
is made from reusable or recyclable materials. In accordance with the 2012/19/ EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Direc-
tive, SCHEU-DENTAL will take back the unit free of charge if it is returned by free delivery. Alternatively, the machine can be sent to a designated
collection point for recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.
2. General Commissioning
For optimal use of the device, ensure to understand and follow the below instructions. When setting up the BIOSTAR
®
in its working environment,
make sure that the infrared heater

, the pressure chamber

and the locking shaft

are freely movable. Avoid setting up the machine in an
environment close to steam jet and sand blasting units or places with high plaster and dust exposure.
Fill the stainless steel pellets provided with the machine in the model cup

and the remaining quantity in the pellet drawer

; when using the
model platform

ensure its surface in the model cup is free from pellets. Ensure that the surfaces above and beneath the model cup are always free
from pellets during the thermoforming process.
Please note that it is not recommended to use any other material to embed the model than the provided stainless steel pellets (e.g. rice or sand).
Those materials may lead to damages of the pneumatic parts and exhaust air openings by swirling during pressure built-up and depressurization.
Moreover, their weight may not be appropriate for precise covering and embedding the models. Ensure to use solely the original power and air connec-
tions provided with the delivery. Make also sure that the compressed air supply is completely free from oil residues and humidity and has a minimum
feed pressure of 6.0 bar.
3. System settings
You can customize the settings of language, pressure, temperature and screen contrast to your personal needs.
Switching on the device
Press the
“CE+home”
button five times, once the current device version appears on the display.
