for alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts, mounting and any other conditions

Additional Safety Rules For Bench Grinders
•
Wear protective glasses.
•
Do not use damaged or unshaped wheels.
•
The adjustment of the work rest shall be done frequent
-
ly, to compensate for wear on the wheel, keeping the
distance between the work rest and the wheet as small
as possible, and no greater than 2 mm.
•
Use wheels that have a bore exactly equal to the arbor
of the grinder. Do not attempt to machine an undersized
wheel to fit an arbor.
•
Do not over tighten wheel nut.
•
Do not grind on a cold wheel. The grinding wheel should
be started and run at idle speed for one minute before
applying the work.
•
Do not grind on the side of the wheel. Grind on the face
of the wheel only.
•
Do not apply coolant directly to a grinding wheel. Cool
-
ant can weaken the bonding strength of the wheel and
cause it to fail.
•
Sparks are a hazard. Do not grind near flammable gas
or liquids.
•
Stand to one side of the wheel when turning on the
power.
•
Dress the wheel on the face only. Dressing the side of
the wheel can cause it to become too thin for safe use.
•
Grinding creates heat. Do not touch the workpiece until
you are sure it has cooled sufficiently.
•
Use grinding wheels that are rated for safe use on the
grinder. Do not use a wheel that is rated lower than the
grinder speed.

safety and operational instructions.
Installing the Work Rests
Install the work rest with bolt and star grip and keep the
distance between the work rest and the wheel as small as
possible, and no greater than 2 mm (Fig. 2).
Note:
The Fig. 2 only shows the installation of the right
work rest. Refer to this figure for the installation of the left
work rest.
Installing the Spark Guards
•
Install the spark guard with a bolt and a washer and
keep the distance between the guard and the wheel as
small as possible, and no greater than 2 mm (Fig. 3).
Note:
The Fig. 3 only shows the installation of the left
spark guard. Refer to this figure for the installation of the
right spark guard.
Installing the Eye Shields
•
Install the eye shield mounting rod assembly with a bolt,
a washer, a bracket, and a mounting rod to the wheel

Mounting the Tool to a Bench
Note:
We highly recommend that you bolt this bench
grinder securely to a work bench to gain maximum stabil
-
ity for your machine.
•
Using the base of the bench grinder as a template mark
the bench through the holes in the casting and drill the
bench with a ø 6 mm drill bit.
•
Bolt the bench grinder on the bench with bolts, washes,
and nuts. Note that these fasteners are not supplied
with the machine.
Connecting to the Power Supply
AC-Three-Phase Current Motor
Check that the power supply and plug used is in accord
-
ance with your bench grinder. Have a look at the rating
plate on the bench grinder. Any changes should always
be carried out by a qualified electrician.
WARNING: This
machine must be earthed.
If not properly earthed this
machine can cause an electrical shock. Be sure that the
power supply outlet is earthed. If there is any doubt, have
it checked by a qualified electrician.
