Grooving removes areas of material so a
workpiece can be bent or shaped.

Adjust blade elevation to the desired grooving
depth.

Mount a wood face extension to miter gauge
(

see page 72

). Install miter gauge in miter

slot, making sure wood face extends across
blade (so a single cut will be made in the
face).

Hold workpiece squarely and firmly against
miter gauge extension and table.

Make sure

workpiece is not touching the blade .

Turn

on motor.

Make a series of evenly spaced cuts along
workpiece, moving workpiece over slightly
between each cut.

As needed, flip workpiece over and make
another series of cuts, offset from first set,
using same method.
