Open System Devices:
Using the Home Button and Home
Screen
Press the Home button to display the Home screen at any time.
All the apps that came on your iPad, plus any apps you download, are available from the Home screen.
To open an app, simply tap it. To see the apps that you have opened, double-press the
Home
button
and swipe left or right. To display the Home screen at any time, press the
Home
button. Swipe left or
right to go to other screens.
To use Siri® (on iPad 3rd generation or later), press and hold the
Home
button.
You can also press the
Home
button quickly three times to turn accessibility features on or off.
To take a screen shot, press and hold the power button and
Home
button at the same time.
Note:
On iPad models with Touch ID®, you can use the sensor in the Home button, instead of using your
passcode or Apple ID password, to unlock the iPad or make purchases in the iTunes Store, App Store,
and iBooks Store. You can also use the Touch ID sensor for authentication when using Apple Pay to
make a purchase from within an app.
