Understanding the Threshold
Threshold Overview
The threshold value is specifically used to check the system state. The threshold is divided into 3
categories: CPU utilization threshold, memory utilization threshold and the temperature threshold. Each
category has the threshold of 2 levels: the first level is warning threshold, and the second level is the
critical threshold. The threshold value can be set and read through the CLI, or the MIB.
Basic Concepts for the Threshold
CPU Utilization Threshold
CPU utilization threshold is used to show the usage condition of the current CPU. It can be read for MIB
software without related log.
Memory Utilization Threshold
Memory utilization threshold is used to show the usage condition of the current memory. It can be read
for MIB software without related log.
Temperature Utilization Threshold
Temperature threshold is used to show the temperature condition of the current device.
When the device temperature is lower than the warning threshold, the system temperature is in the
normal condition. When the device temperature is higher than the warning threshold but lower than the
critical threshold, the system temperature is in the warning condition. When the device temperature is
higher than the critical threshold, the system threshold is in the alert condition.
When the device temperature changes, the related logs will be printed. The log prompts for each change
at a time.
When the device temperature chages from the normal or alert condition to the warning condition, it
prompts:
%SYS-1-TEMP_STATE: System detected temperature is in warning condition.
When the device temperature chages from the normal or warning condition to the alert condition, it
prompts:
%SYS-1-TEMP_STATE: System detected temperature is in alert condition.
When the device temperature chages from the warning or alert condition to the normal condition, it
prompts:
%SYS-1-TEMP_STATE: System detected temperature is in normal condition.
