2.4.4 Creating limit lines
•
In the actual measurement mode, a scan is started for the required frequency range and then
stopped when the display result is satisfactory. This shall form the “as it is” status of the spectrum.
•
In the scan window click the button <Create Limit Line> (disk symbol with green scan curve on top).
The
Navigator
window opens for entering a name. Click <New> to close the window.
Figure 2-26: Creating a Limit Line from the Scan graph
Enter an
Offset
for the measured spectrum in the
Create Limit Line
window that follows.
•
Set the appropriate
Offset
. Positive or negative offset depends on whether the alarm goes off when
the
Limit Line
is later overshoot or undershoot in the automatic measurement.
•
A positive offset of 5 dB for example, pushes the limit up. Slight level fluctuations do not trigger the
alarm with the
Overshoot
setting; however it will be triggered if there is a new, stronger and
unknown signal.
•
If a signal is too weak and is under the limit with the
Undershoot
setting or disappears completely,
the alarm will then be triggered.
•
In case that previously
Max Hold
was switched on also the Max Hold line can be saved as limit line.
If Max Hold was running some time before saving, smaller fluctuations in signals are recorded and
as an effect out of this, for
Overshoots
the Offset can be set to smaller values.
Figure 2-27: Offset setting for the Limit Line
Click <OK> to quit.
The
Limit Line
can now be selected during the definition of AMM.
