Operation preparation

UMS100/120/120 System Manual

i) Then

the

Setting up connection with “name”

window opens automatically. The information for

the

User Name

and

Password

for the

Login Parameter

defined in the configuration table for

the relevant UMS100/120 is now entered.
Click on <Save User Name and Password for...> and <All users for this computer>.

j) Click on <Select> to start a connection set up to test the connection.

If everything has been configured correctly, a connection is set up after a short while and the user name
and password are verified. The connection has been made and can be used. The configuration of the
UMS100/120 can also be done remotely using the Service Tool and the web browser, as described in
Section 1.4.

Select disconnect.

•

There are some details left to configure for the connection. Select the dial-up network connection
just defined in the

Network Connections

folder. Open the

Properties

window by clicking it with the

right mouse button:

a) At

the

General

tab, deselect

All devices dial the same number

and select the

Show symbol

for a connection in the information section of the task bar

. Then you can always see whether

the connection has been made.

b) Keep the standard settings on the

Options

tab. At

Idle time after hanging up

, select 5 min or

10 min to avoid blockings and high telephone costs by forgetting to hang up.

c) The

Security

,

Network

and

Extended

tabs remain unchanged.

d) Close the window with <OK>.

Then set up and test all other dial-up networking for the remaining UMS100/120 in the same way.

1.7.2 Incoming connections (from the UMS100/120)

Before the incoming connection can be set up, a

user account

must be available or has to be

generated on the control PC where the UMS100/120 can register on the system.

carry out this action via

Windows Start

and mark the

Local User

folder within

Local Users and Groups

Select the

New User

window from the

Action

command in the menu.
