TROUBLESHOOTING
[The goniometer does not operate.]
•
Check whether the power to the controller is turned on.
•
It is likely that the goniometer has not yet been initialized (datum). Execute “Init” in the control
software (MexWin) to initialize the goniometer. The above operation will also reset the counting
system (I
0
- and I-detectors). In addition, initialize the detectors again.
[The detector does not count.]
•
It is likely that the detector has not yet been initialized. Choose the HV/HPA tab by selecting Adjust
→
I Counter (I
0
Counter) in the control software (MexWin), and initialize the detector.
•
Check to make sure the cable is properly connected.
•
Check to make sure X-rays are being emitted.
•
Check to make sure the shutter is open.
[The measurement results appear to be inaccurate]
•
The
ω
-axis may have been set improperly. Scan the
ω
-axis by selecting Adjust
→
Monochromator
→
Omega, and set it in a position such that the X-ray intensity reaches its maximum.
•
The detectors may have been set improperly. Execute the HV scan and PHA scan to set them
precisely.
