If the maximum burner gas pressure is too high and cannot be obtained by
clockwise rotation of the temperature controller 'Min' dial; unscrew the gas regulator
lock nut and rotate the gas regulator adjustment screw anticlockwise to decrease
the gas pressure until the minimum burner gas pressure is obtained then tighten the
locknut and proceed directly to step 3 of this procedure to recheck the minimum
burner gas pressure.
5. Perform steps 13 ~ 19 of the 'Checking & Adjusting Burner Gas Pressure Procedure'
on page 47.
The temperature control function is deactivated whilst performing this
procedure. DIP switches 1, 2 and 3 MUST be set to OFF (down position) for
the water heater to function correctly during normal operation.
COMPONENT REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES
Warnings
Heater components and surrounding metallic parts can become extremely
hot. Likewise water within the heater may be extremely hot. A SERIOUS
BURN HAZARD EXISTS. Ensure components have sufficiently cooled
before performing any component replacement procedure and wear PPE to
prevent the risk of scalding.
It is good practice to ensure wiring does not touch metallic components
that are likely to become hot. Use cable ties where required and do not
attach cable ties to metallic components that are likely to become hot.
Front Panel (Procedure 1)
1. Remove four Phillips head screws retaining front panel. Two screws are located on top
sides of front panel and two screws are located underneath heater.
2. Slide front panel down 25 mm and lift panel away from heater.
3. Reassemble in reverse order of above.
Temperature Controller (Procedure 2)
1.
Isolate water supply to heater by closing cold water inlet isolation valve located
below heater.
2. Remove front panel by following steps 1 ~ 2 of procedure 1.
3. Remove single Phillips head screw retaining battery cover to temperature controller
and remove battery cover complete with screw and screw retaining washer.
4. Remove battery from battery compartment.
5. Note DIP switch settings and unplug wiring plugs from temperature controller.
6. Remove two Phillips head screws retaining temperature controller to mounting bracket
and remove temperature controller.
7. Reassemble in reverse order of above.
8. Set temperature controller DIP switches to positions previously noted in step 3.
9. Check and adjust burner gas pressure (refer to 'Checking & Adjusting Burner Gas
Pressure' on page 47).
DIP switches 1, 2 and 3 MUST be set to OFF (down position) for the water
heater to function correctly during normal operation.
