Preface

These application notes describe the on-board programming to the flash memory of the single
power supply F-ZTAT microcomputers (H8/539FS, H8/3062F/67F

H8S/2357F, SH7050F/51F,

SH7044F/45F: as at April 1998) when modifying programs after the microcomputers have been
mounted on the PCB. These application notes also describe how to use the on-board programming
adapter board and the on-board programming tool (PC I/F software). You are encouraged to refer
to these notes when designing your systems to incorporate on-board programming.

Please note that the circuits shown in these application notes are provided for illustrating the
process of on-board programming. Their performance is not guaranteed. If you intend to use the
circuits shown herein, please be sure to first check that they will operate as intended.
