System alarm
The alarms described below are shown in the NautoPilot Operator Unit message bar.
They generate a ”System Fail” at the Plug B3 of the NautoPilot Operator Unit.
These alarms mean that the NautoPilot Operator Unit is disrupted in such a way that ba-
sic functions cannot be performed.
The possible cause and the corrective action is shown in Table 35.
Alarms can be:
-- Power Failure
-- No Heading
-- Simulated sensor data
-- Missing n APIFs
-- Too many APIFs on the CAN bus, please check configuration
-- The Autopilot has performed an automatic “Reset”
The first action to take when one of the above alarms has been activated should be to
reset the NautoPilot Operator Unit either by switching OFF the supply voltage or by re-
moving the fuse at the rear.

Specials on Heading Failure
When after a Heading Failure the heading returns: Alert “CHECK SET HEADING Select
a new Set Heading” will occur and a new set heading will be suggested. Heading con-
troller is set off work and rudder will remain at actual rudder angle.
This alert will occur every 7 seconds even after being acknowledged until either a new
Set Heading is selected and acknowledged (press “Set” button) and heading controller
and rudder are released again or the steering mode is changed.
