13.2 Pump Set

The pump set is on the OS rear of the subframe. Access to the pump set is via the Platform Deck
area on the near side.

13.2.1 Pump Set Batteries

The batteries ensure the Hatz charging system can maintain the electrical supply to the pump set’s
circuits during an incident that causes the vehicle batteries to be disconnected, allowing the
pumps' electrical functions to continue operating, thus ensuring the flow of water, air or both.

The onboard battery charger maintains the batteries when the appliance is in the station, and the
240v lead is connected. The Pump Set Batteries also receive charging current from the vehicle
alternator while the vehicle is running.

WARNING

Motors and exhausts may be hot from recent use. Allow an appropriate amount of time for the

hot surfaces to cool before servicing to avoid burning injuries or damage.

WARNING

Before servicing any part of the appliance, ensure the power has been isolated, the pump is off,

and pressure has been released from the plumbing system. Failure to do so may result in the

unexpected release of energy causing injury, damage or even death.
