Integrated Storage

Controller Battery

This section describes how to remove and replace the integrated storage

controller battery in the DXi6902 Node.

Caution:

Use appropriate ESD precautions, including the use of a

grounding strap, when performing this procedure.

Removing and replacing the integrated storage controller battery in the

Node includes the following steps:

Identifying a Failed Integrated Storage Controller Battery

The integrated storage controller (Dell PERC H710) in the DXi6902 Node

includes a battery that protects the RAID controller during power

failures. The battery allows the RAID controller to store any cached data

until power can be restored.
To identify a failed integrated storage controller battery:

Access the remote management console (see

Accessing Remote

Management

on page 23).

Navigate to the

Status > Hardware > Details > Storage Arrays

page.
