Replacing Node Memory Modules

To identify the memory socket containing the failed DIMM:
1 Log on to the remote management console as the service user (see
Accessing Remote Management on page 23).
2 Navigate to the Service > OpenManage page, and then click
Launch OpenManage .
The OpenManage Login window displays.
Note: If the OpenManage Login window does not display, make
sure OpenManage is running using the Service Menu (see
Accessing the DXi6902 Service Menu on page 34). On the
Service Menu , navigate to More Tools > Open Manage
Web Svc > Start . Then try accessing OpenManage again.
3 Enter the following login credentials and click Submit :
• Username - root
• Password - Contact Quantum ASPS for the service password.
The OpenManage Server Administrator window displays.
4 In the left pane, navigate to System > Main System Chassis >
Memory (see Figure 57 ).
5 Check the entries for DIMM sockets A1–A8 and B1–B8 to locate the
failed DIMM.
Note: DIMM sockets A5–A8 and B5–B8 are not populated in
systems with 0–3 Expansion Modules (RBODs) and will
show as Not Occupied . DIMM sockets A9–A12 and B9–B12
always shows as Not Occupied .
Note: If you started OpenManage manually, after you are finished
replacing memory, make sure to stop OpenManage again
using the Service Menu (see Accessing the DXi6902 Service
Menu on page 34). On the Service Menu , navigate to
More Tools > Open Manage Web Svc > Stop .
