Chapter 3

DXi3500 and DXi5500

Remote Management

The DXi3500 and DXi5500 systems utilize a web-based interface which

allows you to configure and manage the system from a remote

workstation on the same network. The DXi3500 and DXi5500 systems are

managed through the following web pages (accessible using Internet

browser software installed on the host computer):

•

Home

allows you to view the status of all system components.

•

Configuration

allows you to set up information about the DXi3500

and DXi5500 systems such as network, date and time, and

passwords.

•

Status

allows you to view the status of the emulated VTL elements,

hardware components, system performance, and media location.

•

Alerts

allows you to set up e-mail messages and SNMP alerts to alert

you when certain events occur on the system.

•

Data Services

allows you to view and configure the space

management options and configure replication services.

•

Utilities

allows you to set the VTL state, view system events, upload

firmware and configuration files, download system diagnostic data,

and shutdown or restart the system.
