When data de-duplication is enabled on the DXi3500 or DXi5500 system,
it is not possible to accurately predict the amount of storage space
required since the de-duplication process depends on the type of data
being stored. This makes it necessary to define storage space thresholds
so the user can be notified when storage space begins to run low. Space
management provides the ability to monitor the storage space available
on the system and notify the user if storage space begins to run low.
Note:
When a “low-disk space” emergency occurs on a host, the
current host will pause its replication activity and any source
hosts that are currently replicating to this host are paused.
When the “low-disk space” emergency ends, the current host
will resume its replication activity and the source hosts that
were replicating to this host resume.
