Replication Error
- A replication error indicates a severe problem has
occurred such as a replication failure.
•
Replication Warning
- A replication warning indicate a less severe
problem such as a partial replication.
•
Replication Information
- Replication information is provided for
informational purposes only such as the commencement of a
replication.
•
VTL Activity

VTL Activity indicates a change within the DXi3500/
DXi5500 system such as the recognition of new tape media.
Select the system log type(s) and click
Apply
to display the list.
Uploading Firmware

The
Firmware Upload
page is used to upload a new firmware image to the
DXi3500/DXi5500 system.
Firmware Upgrade Requirements

• All backup jobs to the DXi system must be stopped.
• Make sure that all hard drives are in a
Normal
state. Check the
Hardware
page (see
Viewing Hardware Status
on page 87).
• Disconnect all Fibre Channel or Ethernet cables NOT used for the
firmware upload.
• Make sure all space reclamation has stopped.
• Reboot the DXi3500/DXi5500 system (see
Rebooting the DXi3500/
DXi5500 System
on page 131).
Firmware Upgrade Times

• A GUI upgrade takes approximately 45 minutes.
Note:
It is possible to upgrade the DXi system firmware with
replication running. When the system reboots after the
software upgrade, the replication status will indicate
Failed
.
After the next scheduled replication, the indicators will return
to normal.
Note:
One Ethernet connection to the DXi3500/DXi5500 system
is required for remote management access.
