), backup data is written
from the backup server(s) directly to the DXi3500/DXi5500 via a network
or SAN (

). Once the backup data is stored on the DXi3500/
DXi5500, you can replicate the data to a tape library (

backup ISV (Independent Software Vendor). This is a simple and
effective way of taking advantage of the faster transfer speed and
reliability of the DXi3500/DXi5500.
