This port must not be connected to a
PC if the Radio serial port is connected to the radio.
Alternatively, the Elecraft KXUSB or KXSER cables can
be used connected to the
“Rig RS232” port.
QCX rigs
: For the QCX Classic, a CAT port must be
added. It is a simple circuit of 2 resistors, 1 diode, and a
connector.

Note: QCX Classic revision 5 already has the resistors and
diode included on the board. All you need is the connector.
If the SideKar Extreme is ordered specifying the QCX
Classic as the rig, a free CAT Port Kit is included.
QCX+ and QCX Mini’s already have the CAT port installed.
Nothing further is needed.
NOTE: The QCX and QSX must always be connected to
the FT-Q port on the SideKar Extreme NOT the RS-232
port on the top. QRPworks is not responsible for any
damage to the SideKar Extreme or the QCX if the wrong
serial port is used.
Elecraft KX3/KX2/K3/K3s Settings:
For the SideKar Extreme to display transmitted text, the
KX3 firmware must be at MCU version 2.19 or later.
