Displaying Decoded Text
Applicable to:
Elecraft KX2, KX3, K3, K3S
QRP Labs QCX, QSX (planned)
For displaying rig decoded text, the SideKar Extreme takes
advantage of the innovative rig feature whereby the rig
decodes incoming data and displays the decoded text on a
scrolling 8-
character display at the bottom right of the rig’s
screen. The data could be PSK31, PSK63, RTTY, or CW. It
doesn’t matter.
The SideKar Extreme captures these characters as they are
decoded and displays them on an 80-character screen for
easier reading.
By displaying 80 characters at a time, you can read words and
sentences, and not worry about missing characters if you take
your eyes off of the rig’s screen for a short time. Plus you can
freeze and scroll back the text, if you need to.
