Serial Cables
The front panel connector RS-232 RJ-45 Console Port (J7) may be used to access the shelf
management software (see Chapter 4, “System Monitoring and Alarms” ). Some shelf
managers require a DB-9 connector for this purpose. A male RJ-45 to female DB-9
management cable requires the following parts:
• Male RJ-45 connector
• High quality cable, such as Category 5
• Female DB-9 connector
The “Management Cable Pinout” table and figure show the required connections. This cable is
available from PT as part number ACC7340-120.
J5 (Rear-Panel User I/O Connector) may also be used to access the Command Line Interface.
If an RTM blade is attached to J5, such as the RTM4811, please refer to the RTM manual for
cabling information. See

documentation.
