Making External/Internal Calls

Establishing a Connection

Dial a call number and wait for the connection to be established. After some 
seconds, the SIP system telephone accepts the entire call number and dials. To 
speed up dialling, press the hash key 

 after entering the call number.

Manual or Automatic Line Seizure 

If your telephone is set to 

manual

 line seizure, all trunk keys on your 

telephone first seize an internal line, and you can dial an internal number 
straight away. When making external calls, you must first press the line 
seizure code digit (presetting: 

0

).

Note:

This also applies to all enquiry calls and call forwarding to 
external destinations, but not to call forwarding “MSN”.

Your system administrator configures this code digit for all subscribers on the 
Forum 500 / Forum 5000 communications system and will tell you what 
value is currently valid.

If your telephone is set to 

automatic

 line seizure, all trunk keys on your 

telephone seize an external line, and you can dial external numbers straight 
away. In order to reach internal subscribers, press the star key 
twice 

 

.

Information for the system administrator

The code digit is defined in the 

Configurator >  Telephony > Trunks >  

Route

 menu (setting for the 

External trunk

 route). 

●

Immediate external line seizure is set in the user group by means of the 

Immediate external line seizure

 authorisation (in the
