TX500 series technical manual

13.2 Overview

The Masterpiece HD mixer is a single PCB enclosed in a 1U metal enclosure. The

enclosure is fitted with standard fixing brackets to enable it to be mounted in a rack.

All of the connections are on the back of the box with the inputs being directly fitted to the

main PCB, thereby maintaining a high quality signal path.

Fully redundant dual power supplies are supplied as standard.

The key set-up and troubleshooting indicators are mounted on the front of the PCB to allow

for easy access. DIL switches are available for configuration, and all system software

including the operating system is held within a compact flash card. This allows for easy

upgrades in the field.

The Ethernet port is an industry standard 10/100 Base-T and will be available as a future

option. There are two serial ports; an RS485 port for control from the TX control system and

an RS232 for debug information on a terminal. Termination of the RS485 ports is by way of

jumpers on the main PCB.

All signal processing is carried out by a single processing chip, and system configuration by

an Electrically Programmable Logic Device (EPLD).
