Issue 21
TX500 series technical manual
reference, the output timing of the 3423 is dependent on this internal reference. Any
adjustment to the 3423’s internal reference timing will therefore be reflected in the timing of
the 3426’s foreground 1 input. To correctly time the system, the 3423’s internal reference
timing must be set to a point where:
•
The 3423’s internal reference lies within the timing windows of it’s three inputs.
•
The foreground 1 input of the 3426 lies within the timing windows of it’s 2 other
inputs.
For minimal delay through the system, it is recommended that the following procedure is
followed to time the system:
Set the LINE and FRACTION switches of the 3423 to 0.
Examine the three “IN RANGE” LEDs of the 3423, and the three “IN RANGE” LEDs of the
3426. If these are all green then no further action is required.
Increase the timing of the 3423 in 1/8
th
line increments until all six “IN RANGE” LEDs are
green.
When the 3423 & 3426 have been correctly timed, any downstream keyers should be
adjusted to the correct timing.
