4.2.1 Breakout cable
Many of the control connections to the TX500 series main frame are via a 78 way D type
connector, labeled ‘CONTROL’, which uses a break-out cable to provide individual 9, 15 and
25 way D type sockets to interface with the appropriate equipment. The break-out cable can
be supplied with the switcher and will have all connectors labeled. All connections have been
designed to use pin to pin cables from the break-out cable to the equipment under control.
An alternative break-out cable is available which is supplied with unterminated ‘tails’ on 3
metre cables so that the user may use their own patch field.
The connections available on the break-out cable are as follows:
