TX500 series technical manual
4.6 Video signals
As the TX 500 can be supplied for operation with either an ‘internal’ (local), or ‘external’
router, all signal interconnections between the router and the video and audio mixers require
external cabling as shown in the diagram below. The following sections detail these
connections.
Note:
The DVE and Frame Store, which are shaded in the diagram, are optional in the
configuration. If a DVE is included, then a Frame Store must also be connected in order to
compensate for the frame delay inherent in the DVE when it is not in the signal path. The
DVE and Frame Store ICON cards share the same rear connector in the ICON frame, but
are not on the same connector as the main mixer, therefore ‘to and from’ cable connections
are required in order to integrate them into the system. This arrangement alternatively allows
for an external Frame Store and DVE to be used. The TX500 series supports the Snell and
Wilcox Magic Dave, as an alternative external device.
The number of DSKs is also configurable, although the maximum number depends on the
TX frame rear connector type, which will either support zero, two or four keyer cards.
